Steve Lantz wrote on 6 May 2012 : I'm the webmaster for the USS Nantahala AO-60, the Mississinewa's sister ship. I was on the Nan 1965-1969 and the story of the Mississinewa was passed down from generation to generation of Nantahala sailors back then. Later when we started having reunions I met sailors who were on the Nantahala when the Mississinewa was hit. The Nan was anchored next to the Mississinewa. God bless those who lost their lives on her and God bless you who keep her memories alive.
