I have read the subject book regarding the Mississinewa. I found the book on the internet and was interested in getting it because my father served on the USS Tallulah (AO-50) during the war in the Pacific. Like many WWII veterans, he never spoke about his time during the war, and this book gave me a great insight into what his service would have been like during the war. I have researched the history of his ship so I have a good idea where he was during his two years on it. In retrospect, I wish I had pressed him more to speak on his time there. Thank you for giving the public a great retrospective on what these ships did during the war. It's unfortunate that oilers have received little attention in the history of WWII.
