My dad John J Murphy III, CBM was on board on 20 Nov '44. He survived the sinking and went on to a career in Law Enforcement as a New York State Parkway Police Officer. He rarely spoke about the loss of the Mississinewa and when he did it was very broad in general. I think many if not most of war survivors don't go into detail about their worst experiences. Anyway, dad passed away in 1984 and although it took many years I am glad that I found this site and was able to download a couple of pics of dad from it.
